You can do this with any fresh deep sea game fish, it is absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious!!


Prep time: 30mins

Cook time: 6mins

Serves: 2 adults


Ginger Coriander and Sesame Rub:


  • 2 large thick Mahi Mahi fillets
  • 2 tsp ground coriander seeds (do this freshly if possible)
  • 2 Tbs lightly toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 Tbs grated ginger




  1. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and mix to combine
  2. Press over both sides of fish fillets until evenly coated
  3. Cover and place in fridge



Thai Style Coleslaw:


  • 1/4 red cabbage very thinly sliced
  • 1/2 red capsicum very thinly sliced in lengths
  • 1 zucchini very thinly sliced in lengths
  • 2 mushrooms very thinly sliced
  • 1 red chili finely sliced
  • 1/4 cup coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger





  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 Tbs tamari soy sauce
  • 1 tsp fish sauce




  1. Place all coleslaw ingredients in a bowl and mix to combine
  2. Pour over dressing ingredients, toss to coat




  1. Divide coleslaw evenly between two plates
  2. Heat some coconut oil in a heavy based fry pan on medium
  3. Add fish and sear each side for three minutes
  4. Place on top of coleslaw, top with some extra chili, coriander leaves and the leftover dressing form the bottom of the coleslaw bowl.
